There are several sleep apnea symptoms but let me tell you first how I discovered that i have sleep apnea. Normally I sleep about 6 hours per day and that wasn't a problem at all for me until a year ago. I couldn't get out of bed on time anymore. For a couple of months I went to bed much earlier, slept over 8 hours but still every morning i was really damn tired.
Even at work concentrating was getting harder and harder. After lunch, when I was back in my office sitting behind the computer, it was once and a while so tough to keep my eyes open that I sometimes just fell asleep for a little while. I was sitting in a spot that nobody could see me but another problem still remains... they could hear me sleep! Snoring is one of the symptoms of sleep apnea. Colleages started talking about it saying I should go to bed earlier etc etc.. They just wouldn't believe I did that already!
Then one day a girlfriend had done some reading about Sleep Apnea and she shared this to me. She always complained about my breathing while I was asleep. In the article they listed several symptoms for sleep apnea and I applied to almost every single symptom.
Here's a list of known symptoms:
- Very loud snoring
- You fall asleep very easy during the day
- You sleep short or restless
- You have often breathing pauzes
- You get very fast irritated
- Your sex drive is low
- You feel drepressed
- You forget a lot
- Problems with concentrating
- Mood or behaviour changes
